Membership
A member of the Sweeny Fire and Rescue
Department is a person who contributes personal service in pursuit of the
objective of Sweeny Fire and Rescue, and who meets the criteria hereafter stated
for obtaining and maintaining membership.
Requirements:
• Be Willing
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Reside within the response area of Sweeny Fire & Rescue
• Have a clean criminal and driving record
• Clear, valid Texas Drivers License
• Must submit to a physical and drug screening
• Have a completed application on file with the officers of the
department
Benefits:
• All firefighting gear, uniforms, communications equipment and
training are free!
• Firefighters Retirement Plan
• Workers compensation insurance will provide payment for any
medical bills
caused during training or rescue activities
• Accidental death loss benefit of $150,000 or dismemberment loss
according to
the policy up to $150,000
• The privilege to serve your community
